Q: Why do you ask for volunteers?

A: Although some money comes from the school district’s Fine Arts department, most of the money for the band comes from the efforts of volunteers. To raise funds used for student programs we run the concessions during the Varsity football games at George Stadium and the Junior Varsity football games at the Westfield Athletic Complex. We also help run DCI’s Tour of Champions event in July. Volunteers also help students move equipment at performances, chaperone, help with uniforms and much more.

Q: What do I need to do to volunteer?

A: Just let us know what you would like to do by completing a volunteer form. The volunteer who coordinates that activity will contact you. Volunteers also complete a required background check.

Q: What is required for my student to participate in marching band?

A: Your student must have a physical, have returned all forms and permission slips, participate in rehearsals, follow school rules and policies and maintain passing grades. If you have any questions regarding the eligibility of your student, please talk to your student’s band director.
