Weekly Update 1.28.19

Happy Sunday band family!

First of all, I want to say how proud we are of the winterguard program, featuring first performances by both our Varsity and Junior Varsity teams yesterday at Morton Ranch High School! They both put on a fantastic first showing and placed high in their classes to kick off what is sure to be another successful and rewarding season. For information regarding ways you can help the winterguard programs or come to see their shows, please see the calendar to scope out when and where their shows will be!

This coming weeks calendar view looks as follows:

FUNDRAISING

We will be replenishing our supplies for the snack fundraiser this week. Students and parents, this fundraiser is meant to contribute DIRECTLY to students’ fees accounts. We have a fair number of behind and outstanding accounts. Phone calls will be going home this week to reach out to parents to make them aware of balances. It is very important for us to stay current on fees so that we may continue to offer experiences for all students in the program; such as winterguard, indoor percussion, masterclasses, private lessons, clinicians, technicians, food during travel etc.

9th GRADE AUDITIONS

We will be hosting 9th grade students from district middle schools to come and audition and get basic info about being in band on February 20th and 22nd between 6-8pm. We will ask that current band parents who are interested in helping the staff answer questions about high school or being in the band program come to help those nights with incoming freshman parents. Also, parents who can assist in translation with Vietnamese or Spanish would be most helpful in reaching to serve all of our families!

Thanks to everyone and let’s have a great week!
