On Saturday, we will be working on props for anyone who would like to get service hours. From 9am-noon we will try and complete all of our front drops and back drops to practice with the following week. Leadership students are expected to set the example and help with this project. The more people we have, the quicker it will go. Thanks!
This week, show that you read the weekly updates by wearing your big red band shirt to your class period. (feel free to change before or after if you do not like wearing it during the school day)
GRADES AND GRADE CHECK
This week, we will be doing a grade check to see how our eligibility is doing. You will see grades in band. If you have zeros in your band class, please see a director about how you can make up those grades and maintain eligibility. Anyone with a borderline average or failing class grade in another class will not be allowed to perform at this week’s game and will be expected to bring that grade to passing before boarding the bus on Thursday. Academics and academic success is essential to participating in band and color guard. All members of the Big Red Band must be eligible to participate in future band activities and performances. Remember that a “no call, no show” absence from a practice during the week will result in not being able to perform at the game as well. We strive to teach effective time management and following through with commitments as a life skill. “If it is important to you in life, you will make the necessary time to make it grow.”
